ExtraHop, the leader in cloud-native network detection and response, today announced that it has expanded its relationship with global technology distributor Westcon-Comstor to bring advanced threat detection, investigation, and response capabilities to Indonesia and the Philippines. In addition, leading IT infrastructure solution partner Virtus Technology Indonesia (VTI) has joined the ExtraHop reseller community, adding network detection and response (NDR) to its cybersecurity portfolio.
Cyber threats have been on the rise in ASEAN due to the pandemic and work-from-home arrangements. The reported financial damage caused by ransomware in ASEAN exceeded 1 billion USD in 2020. This number is likely even higher, as many businesses are unwilling to report cases. Indonesia was hit particularly hard, with businesses in the country suffering approximately 1.3 million ransomware attacks––accounting for almost half of the ransomware cases detected in the region.
In response to the rapid proliferation of advanced threat activity across the region, many business organizations are turning to NDR to provide critical visibility into advanced threat activity like ransomware and help them respond to incidents quickly to minimize disruption. As a result, the NDR market is now the second-fastest-growing segment in cybersecurity according to IDC Research.
With AI-based threat detection, investigation, and forensic-level incident response, ExtraHop is at the forefront of the NDR market. Through partnerships with organizations like Westcon-Comstor in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and China along with VTI in Indonesia, the company is now expanding rapidly in ASEAN, helping to meet the growing demand for NDR in this major global market.
“As organizations adopt IT and drive digital transformation, cybersecurity needs to become top-of-mind. ExtraHop is a leading cybersecurity company uniquely positioned to help organizations detect, investigate, and respond to advanced threats now impacting so many businesses across ASEAN. They are also one of our fastest-growing partners in 2021 and we are excited to be given the opportunity to expand the partnership with ExtraHop to another two countries in SouthEast Asia, namely Indonesia and the Philippines. This will bring about closer collaboration and engagement and allow us to bring ExtraHop’s market-leading NDR solution to more partners and customers in this region,” commented Wilson Ho, Managing Director, Westcon-Comstor Asia.
“With our strategic relationship with ExtraHop, we’ve taken a step further toward our vision to become one of Indonesia’s premier IT infrastructure solution providers and a valued partner for businesses and end-users. ExtraHop Reveal(x) has shown to be effective in helping organizations in detecting threats, investigating incidents, and quickly stopping breaches,” said Erwin Kuncoro, President Director of Virtus Technology Indonesia. “We hope that ExtraHop’s innovative cybersecurity offering will assist more local businesses in delivering cyber defense protection against all types of cyber threats without compromising important assets and data.”
“As with the rise of the digital economy and rapid speed of digitization across industries in Indonesia and the Philippines, cyber threats will not stop evolving, and neither should our efforts to fight against them. Through partnerships in Indonesia and the Philippines, we are rapidly extending our manpower and resources to help local businesses ensure the safety of their IT operations and data by continuously striving to improve our offerings,” said Aylwin Lam, Channel Sales Director of Asia and Japan at ExtraHop.
